SMCC was founded in January of 1999 by a group of avid cricket players and friends. The members worked hard to get everything together including the ground, the equipment, and additional members to get ready for the 1999 cricket season. After everyone giving 100% of time and effort, the members were rewarded with a great team with enthusiastic players, a beautiful ground in San Mateo (a little windy, but not too hot), and a membership with the NCCA. They first joined the C league and quickly made their mark on the league. Unfortunately, they did not win the season, but did win the Outstanding Sporting Team Cup for their league. They will be playing in the C league again this season, but all we can say is "WATCH OUT!" |
