Although the exact date of the founding of the Marin Cricket Club is not a matter of specific record, the earliest Marin C.C. artifact is a 1932 photograph commemorating the first match between the Marin C.C. and the Hollywood Cricket Club.

Over the years, the club has played on a series of different grounds, often holding on only by its fingernails, particularly during the 60's & 70's when the late Jim Vivian held the club together by sheer personal enthusiasm.  With the securing of a more permanent home ground however, the club began to thrive.

For the past 19 years, the club's home ground has been in idyllic Piper Park in Larkspur.  The result of 19 years of grooming and constant attention, with the close co-operation of the City of Larkspur is a gem of a cricket ground. Set in a location of undeniable natural beauty, we now find a small but classic cricket ground with manicured outfield and a fair, permanent artificial pitch. Facilities include permanent double practice nets and on match days, sightscreens, large score board and canopy pavilion.

Marin County is blessed with a superb cricketing climate, which allows for a 7-8 month season, beginning in April and running on into November.  The club puts on almost 100 league and non-league matches per year. In addition to this extensive fixture program, Marin C.C. regularly tours internationally, having played in England, the Far East, the South Pacific, South America, British Columbia, the Bahamas, and also Australia to coincide with the 1992 World Cup.

Marin C.C. is a multi-ethnic 'melting pot' club with an English flavor. We run 1st, 2nd, and Social XI's. We are happiest when entertaining overseas visitors or touring teams.  Proper attention is paid to after-match activities and visitors will always find members ready to socialize in the Mayflower Inne or one of the many local hostelries or restaurants within easy reach of the ground.
