The East Bay Cricket club was formed in the year 1995.  Initially, it consisted of only three players mainly, Sarabjit Chadha, Parminder Bhasin and Ajit Singh, these three players played cricket on the tennis courts at Union City whenever the courts were available. Later, the club got some more players and they started playing at the baseball field in the same ground.

In 1996, the club got a great deal of support from Mr. Larry Lepore, Mr. Bob White and Mrs. Betsy Eades of the Hayward unified school district. The club was able to get a ground with their great help and established a permanent home field at the Lorin Eden School in Hayward.

The club now consists of mostly young players who are rich in talent and skills. In two years, the club's membership has grown rapidly from three players to thirty five players. The diligent efforts of Uresh Parikh, Kaushal Bhagat, Sarbjit Chadha and Pankaj Bhardwaj have resulted in the club having two teams. Special Thanks to Mr. Ashwin Bhakri of Bhakri Law firm for financial support at the beginning.
