I have been involved in promotion of cricket since in elementary school. I was never a good player and still isn't one today, but, I am always helping out with planning and organizing of cricket events. Since 1980 I have been involved with cricket in Davis (being one of the four founding members of the club in 1980). I was also involved with Hasu Patel of Spartan, James Vivian of Marin, and Peter Piriera of Stanford in the formation of the B-Division in the early 80"s, and watched this league grow to what it is today.
I have been a long time promoter of facility evaluation and improvement and served on all the committees over the years in NCCA. I have made a lot of enemies along the way, but, my resolve is strong enough to be roughing it out until today. I have also served on the NCCA umpiring committee for several years and have been training umpires in the Sacramento League also. I have been instrumental in promotion of cricket in the Sacramento Area and have helped form the Sacramento League five years ago. I have served as President or Vice-president in this league every year so far.
Cricket is a passion of mine and I have spent lots of time promoting it.The drive to the Bay-area is long as everyone knows, but, I have attended more meetings than most people in NCCA. Continuity is crucial to NCCA and having been around all these years I would like to serve on this BOD to help keep our direction and focus going. I feel this is a great and bold step and I want to give all the help I can to ensure the success of this new BOD. I will continue to serve on the Grounds committee, the Umpiring Committee and even the selection committee as NCCA EXECS see fit.
LONG LIVE THE NCCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been part of NCCA since my teenage years. Although, I belong to a cricket family, but it was NCCA where I first got introduced to cricket. NCCA has been instrumental in my developed as cricketer and over the years I had the privilege of representing NCCA at both regional and national level competitions. Today, I am a member of United States National Squad and I give credit for that to the cricket I played in Northern California. Local community has supported my throughout my career and when I was asked to stand for NCCA BOD elections, I gladly accepted. I feel this would be a good way to serve the community.
In the past, I have served on NCCA Disciplinary Committee and NCCA Rules Committee. In 2005, I also served as the selector for SW-NW U-19 squad. Besides playing cricket every weekend, I have been devoting time for coaching at CCL Youth Academy for the last two years. Last year I helped train and coordinated two youth teams at the National Junior Championship. I believe future of cricket, especially here in this country, lies with youths and this will be my focus area. In addition, with my experience as someone who has played cricket all over the US, through national competitions, it would be my goal to help Northern California cricket become a powerhouse in US.

Affiliation in NCCA : Tracy United Cricket Club.
I have been involved in cricket since my childhood. I had always organized and played cricket when I was in India. In Ohio, US back in 1995, we use to play cricket in a matting wicket and almost travel entire mid-west region to complete the tournament(from Detroit to Lexington, KN). After coming to bay area, we learned to establish our club after knowing about NCCA. I was one of the founding member of Tracy United Cricket Club (Faaqer Ali was our other founding member). Building Cricket Club has taught me ten times more than what I could have learned during the same time in corporate world.
Positions held in NCCA : None.
Motivation to be in BOD: Pay back to the community which has given me opportunity to play cricket in organized way (here in US). Plan of Action (if any): :
- In my Opinion there is no perfect organization,.
- I would like to take the opportunity to serve and make the difference in what ever I will do.

I have been playing in the NCCA for 10 years, and I would like to work towards growing the membership base,
while strengthening the organization. One of my goals is to restructure the format to popularize the game in the bay area. I believe that serving on the BOD will give me an opportunity to do so.
Although my cricketing skills are not of great value, I bring experience from my role as the President of Santa Clara Cricket Club for the past four years.

Affiliation in NCCA : I have been a member of NCCA since 1996 with the origination of East Bay Cricket Club. I had a strong desire to play cricket in US and in mid 90’s few of us got together and started the East Bay Cricket Club. We worked with Hayward School district to secure a ground at Lorin Eden Elementary. In an effort to further improve the quality of the cricket we needed a better ground. After several meetings and presentations to the officials ay Union City, the Sport Authority Committee and the council meetings we were able to convince them that Union City needs to promote this sport and we can help achieve this goal. Even though it was an uphill task we had great success to the extent that they gave us an option to pick a field out of the available four. I worked hand in hand with Sriram, Valley Cricketers to make this dream a reality.
Positions held in NCCA : I have actively participated in the NCCA meetings and discussions to continue improve the cricketing experience.
Motivation to be in BOD: My dad and my son both attend all the games we play at home or away. I cannot express how the three of us celebrate our success or sulk in our defeats together since all of us are a part of it. Just like my son there are several of my team mates and friends across NCCA who have children who enjoy cricket but are deprived from playing the sport in their pre-teen and early teens. I look forward to developing and implementing a road map for the next generation so that they have the option to participate in this sport even when they are in their pre-teens.
Plan of Action (if any):
We have achieved tremendous success in promoting cricket in the Bay Area in the last few years but this is just a beginning. We need to continue to do lot of work to improve the ground conditions, umpiring assignments, promote inter-league games and get the community more involved.

I have been playing in the NCCA for the last 10 years. As a founder of Valley Cricketers, served Valley cricketers as its President from 1997 to 2000 and growing the organization. My focus now is now on Cricket Infrastructure and Youth Cricket. Working alongside Sarabjit Chadha, we have been successful in getting two cricket grounds in the East Bay. Currently, I serve as the Grounds Secretary for Valley Cricketers and I am the Club representative
to the City of Union City Sports Advisory Board.
Affiliation in NCCA : Valley Cricketers
Positions held in NCCA : Member of NCCA Disciplinary committee (2000). Valley Cricketers representative to
NCCA 1997 to 2000.
Motivation to be in BOD: To re-direct NCCA priorities to get its own cricket facilities and promote youth cricket
Plan of Action (if any):
- Help NCCA in getting its own cricket ground and facilities.
- Promote Youth Cricket, recruiting and develop satellite centers
for youth coaching atleast in 4 parts of the Bay area.
- Coaching is vital for youth cricket. Offer cricket coaching as part of
City's youth sports program.
- Identify sponsorships to improve cricket facilities.

Affiliation in NCCA : Playing cricket in the NCCA since 1986. Original member NCCA B League. Founding member of the Stanford CC B team founded in 1987
Positions held in NCCA : Member of the Disciplinary Committee for a couple of years. Served as the Stanford CC B Team rep for 8+ Years.
Motivation to be in BOD: Under the previous BoD setup it was very frustrating to make changes. The body was just too large. I see the new BoD structure as an opportunity to make lasting change, a chance to fix the many broken pieces of the NCCA. As a smaller group
decisions can be made faster and implemented quickly. I see the first
BoD group as an opportunity to lay the groundwork for for long term change.
Plan of Action (if any): I, with the help of fellow BoD members plan on putting in place a road map with a vision that can be followed by BoDs that follow. A vision for future growth and improvement of the NCCA
- Improving the standard of the league by getting the best players in the league to compete in A division.
- Too many games - the last month of the season means nothing to 1/2 the teams.
- Make the post season mean something. Incentives for winning?.
- Grounds - the league cannot be competitive if games are played on minefields.
- Funding - fundraising? increased dues? the current fee structure
does not allow for improvement of facilities and support for league
supported initiatives (rep teams, youth teams, ground improvements,
dedicated umpires etc etc)
- Youth League - Providing coaching in addition to financial support
for a youth team.
- Equipment Standards - there is no excuse for a league that wants to
be "world class" to use sub par equipment because of cost.
- Rep Team - to be taken seriously around the country the NCCA has to
be competitive (they have been of recent). The rep team should be
funded, coached and prepared for competition month before tournaments not weeks. Goals to get NCCA players on teh US Team. There are enough players that are capable! .
- there are a number of problems to fix and there are number of areas
that simply need improvement and tweaking. Anything is possible with
the right people in place.
